BiographyKim Crawford grew up in a family rich in the tradition of harness racing and has been driving Standardbreds since he was 14 years old. In that time, Crawford has racked up more than 4,600 wins and $15 million in earnings. Drove his first pari-mutuel race at Saratoga in 1971, a year before graduating from high school. He raced on the New England circuit before settling at Saratoga in 1976, receiving the Johnny Page Award for best young driver the very next year. Crawford has been Saratoga’s Horseman of the Year five times (1982, 1985, 1989, 1990, and 1991). His wife, Judy, is active in the sport as a trainer and was Saratoga’s Horsewoman of the Year in 1991. Crawford currently trains a stable of horses. He also catch-drives each night at Saratoga Casino Hotel. He and his wife have three children: sons Brett and Cole, and daughter Rachel.
