Biography

Michele Kopiec was elected as USTA's corporate secretary in 2022 and has been with the association since 1999. She is currently the racetrack operations and licensing manager. Previously, she was part of the USTA Member Services Department and the Racetrack Support team, assisting in the development and implementation of the USTA eTrack and online entry systems. Her day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing Racetrack Support, licensing of driver/trainers and officials, coordinating education opportunities for officials, and assisting in special projects. She is a lifelong harness racing enthusiast, introduced to the sport by her father who worked for Delvin Miller at The Meadows. Prior to her employment at the USTA, she worked for Whitehorse Farm, Scioto Downs and the late Walter “Boots” Dunn. Kopiec graduated from Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa., and holds a B.S. degree in large animal science with a concentration in pre-veterinary science. She has also been an organizational advisor for the Ohio 4-H program, Madison County and is a member of the Racing Officials Accreditation Program board, serving on the education and steering committees. She and her daughter, Paige, reside in London, Ohio.
