BiographyCathy Dessert has been involved with harness racing since 2013. She, along with her husband, Bill, have raced in many states, but primarily in MN. They also have a few broodmares that they are breeding in the MN program. Dessert became involved at a deeper level when she was elected to the MN Horsepersons Board of Directors in 2016. She has served as the Vice President since 2021. She is also a director on the Board of Harness Horse International, a position she has held since 2019. She represents the breeders in Minnesota, serving on the racing commission’s Breeders Fund committee. Dessert also curls in the winter and has been a competitive ballroom dancer. She taught in the area of special education prior to starting her family. She attended the University of Minnesota to attain her degree in teaching. Dessert resides in Minnesota with her husband.
