BiographyMike Sweeney has been active in the Standardbred sport as an owner, trainer, driver and breeder all his life. He is a member of the Michigan Farm Bureau and has served as a director of the Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association since 1999. A former Horseman of the Year and Breeder of the Year in Michigan, he is now a member of that state’s Harness Racing Hall of Fame. Sweeney has trained several state and world champions. Among his favorite horses have been Twentymillionthfan, Spark Of Energy, Incredible M A, Adversary and Tropical Breeze. He and his wife, Patty, reside at their farm in Davison, Mich.
