CHOCOLATIER took charge before the half as the heavy favorite, slowed down the third quarter, rebuffed a pocket-sitting challenger, and won easily. MR PINE CHIP took back at the start, followed tons of cover fifth-over, and closed stoutly from well back. CAPETOWN HALL left well from the far outside to drop into the three-hole, was forced to come back out first-over into the final turn, grinded up slowly on the outside while unable to flush cover of his own, and trotted well to take show honors. MAKE YOU MINE followed Capetown Hall second-over, was clear early in the lane, but could not collar that one. RC ROYALTY showed his usual early foot to gain the early lead, yielded to the favorite before the half, inexplicably pulled the two hole before the stretch, and probably lost the place because of that move. IRA K aborted a leave attempt, followed along fifth-in, had even trot along the cones. EL MIKKO was fourth-in through the final turn, and had no shot whatsoever. DOUBLE PLAYER took an early tuck, followed excess cover fourth-over, and had no shot from there. GLOBAL GLIDE never saw the rail from the ten hole, flushed cover just before the half, followed along third-over, but had nothing left for the stretch. EBONY STRIKE left alertly to get into the two-hole, followed along the cones, and offered no threat.
