BiographyRetired after 27 years as the Executive Director of the Delaware Standardbred Owners Association, DiMario was born and raised in Westchester County, New York, about six miles from Yonkers Raceway. He was first introduced to horse racing by his uncle who trained Thoroughbreds on the NYRA Circuit. A graduate of Columbia University (B.A.) and the Haub School of Law of Pace University (J.D.), DiMario was admitted to practice in New York in 1987. DiMario has been a presiding judge/state steward at racetracks in Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, and Massachusetts. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Harness Horsemen International and was the 2018 recipient of HHI’s Dominic Frinzi Person of the Year Award.
