Southwind Chaska charges in Bluegrass filly trot
Jim Oscarsson pupil Southwind Chaska revved off a pocket ride and downed 4-5 favorite Carve in the final strides for a 1:51.4 victory in the third of four divisions for the $378,000 Bluegrass 2-Year-Old Filly Trot – a division of the Norman Woolworth Memorial sponsored by the Arden Homestead Stable, LST Stable and William DeVan – on Friday (Sept. 26) at The Red Mile.
Signal Caller strikes in Bluegrass
Driver Andy McCarthy bided his time off torching speed laid by Thai Hanover and launched into action at the right time to seize a 1:48.4 victory with Signal Caller in the third of four dashes for the $298,500 Bluegrass 2-Year-Old Colt & Gelding Pace – a division sponsored by Brittany Farms – on Friday (Sept. 26) at The Red Mile.
