Biography

Steve O’Toole is the GM of racing at Plainridge Park Casino. He has been involved in the sport since the 1970s, primariily as an owner-trainer-driver. Among his more prominent horses are Pearl’s Falcon, Tres Grand Vitesse, Tailgater, My Lord Rodger and Baron Pedro. He has been the leading driver at Foxboro Raceway, Rockingham Park and Hinsdale Raceway. He also holds current licenses for starter and judge, plus has held a Thoroughbred trainer’s license. O’Toole is a director of the Standardbred Owners Association of New England and a member of Lions Club International and Elementary School Mentors. He was the Lions Club International Lion of the Year in 2007. With his extensive background in harness racing, he is very familiar with the challenges facing the sport today.
