Biography

Sam Beegle is chairperson of USTA District 7. He is an owner, trainer and driver with more than 45 years of experience and was a driving force in the development of Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack and in bringing off-track wagering to Pennsylvania. Among the top horses he has been associated with are Gabby Glide, First Rate and Arctic Warrior. He currently serves as president of the Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen’s Association and is a member of the Pennsylvania Equine Coalition. Sam and his wife, Kathy, have three children, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
