Corey Callahan
As the son of noted horseman Nick Callahan, Corey Callahan went from a guy who didn’t even want to jog his own father’s horses, to one of the top drivers on the Eastern Seaboard. A graduate of the University of Kentucky where he played hockey, Callahan traded in a corporate suit and started driving at the age of 27. He is an eight-time driving champion at Dover Downs and in 2018 passed the $6 million mark in purses for the seventh year in a row. He represented the U.S. in the 25th World Driving Championship in 2011 and finished second. The biggest win of his career came during the 2009 season when he captured the $500,000 Hoosier Cup with Mr Wiggles.

John Hensley

John Hensley
John Hensley
John Hensley is the track director of District 11. Spending his early childhood years in Baltimore, Md., he formed an affinity for harness racing with family trips to Laurel and Freestate. After relocating to Delaware in the late 1970s, family ownership of horses racing on the Delaware circuit at Brandywine, Dover and Harrington furthered that affinity. Upon graduation from Wesley College in 1993 with a B.S. in Engineering, he briefly pursued a professional baseball career before returning to the business of harness racing in 1997 at Harrington Raceway. He has held various positions in the racing industry including television analyst, simulcast director, and has held his racing secretary license since 2003. He received his M.B.A. from Wilmington University in 2008, is a member of various local organizations in his home state and was inducted into the Wesley College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. He is in his 20th year at Dover Downs and is the general manager and senior director of horse racing and sports.

Russell J. MacKinnon
Russell MacKinnon has been an owner, trainer and breeder of Standardbreds for more than 55 years. Director of the Delaware Standardbred Owners Association. MacKinnon has three children­—Shannon, Kathy and John—and three stepchildren—Wendy, Kevin and Wade. He and his wife, Elaine, reside near Millville, Del.

Dan E. Bittle , Jr
Dan Bittle is chairman of District 11. Bittle is the vice-president of Yankeeland Farms Inc., Yankee Land Trust, and Keller Corporation in Frederick, Md. Yankeeland Farms bred Hambletonian winners Muscles Yankee and Yankee Paco, and owned and trained Hambletonian Oaks winner Windylane Hanover. Bittle has been involved in the sport for more than 30 years. He is the treasurer and on the board of directors for the Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association, on the board of directors for the Maryland Standardbred Breeders Association, and is a member of the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey. He is also on the steering committee for Turf Field, fundraising for a local high school. Bittle attended Shepherd University. He and his wife, Susan, have two children, Lex and Kelsie.
