Dan Ater
Dan Ater has been involved in harness racing for more than 40 years as a trainer-driver. He has won driving titles at Lebanon Raceway, Scioto Downs, Northfield Park and Balmoral Park. Among his top horses were Western Resolve, Firm Belief, Capital Request, Cruzin Inya Jammys, Mystique Cruiser and Dancin Yankee. Ater was inducted into the Ohio Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 2016. He is a director of the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association, has been a Deerfield Township trustee for more than 20 years, and is a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau. Ater has four children, Kyle (also active in the sport as a driver), Nick, MacKenzie and Daniel.

Dave Bianconi
Dave Bianconi is the Executive Vice President of Racing and Simulcasting at Northfield Park and has been involved in the sport for 28 years. Bianconi has also been a color commentator on the Little Brown Jug broadcast for the past 24 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Cincinnati and attended the University of Louisville equine administration program for one year. Bianconi and his wife, Jen, have a 19-year-old son, Stephen, who is a freshman at The Ohio State University; and a 15-year-old daughter, Elena.

Stacy Cahill

Stacy Cahill
Stacy Cahill is the General Manager of Racing Operations at Eldorado Scioto Downs Racino. She has been involved in harness racing for 30-plus years, growing up in the business and watching her father and grandfather race many prominent horses throughout her childhood. In addition to Scioto Downs she has worked in several different capacities at Red Mile, Pompano Park, Hawthorne Race Course and the Delaware County Fair. She was the Lady Pace honoree in 2013 at the Delaware County Fair. She is currently the vice president of the American Harness Racing Secretaries Association. Stacy has earned a B.S. degree in criminal justice from Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio. She is also a member of the U.S. Harness Writers Association and the Hall of Fame. She is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. She is married to Jeff Cahill, an avid racing fan.

R Kevin Greenfield
Kevin Greenfield has been involved in the sport for 31 years and is the co-owner, president and treasurer of Hickory Lane Horse Farm in Findlay, Ohio. He is also the co-owner and syndicate manager for stallion Tactical Landing, who stands at Southwind Farms of New Jersey, as well as the syndicate manager for stallions Uncle Peter, What The Hill, Racing Hill and McArdle, who all stand at Hickory Lane. Greenfield earned a B.A. degree from Bowling Green State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toledo. He is a member of the Ohio State and Toledo Bar Associations. He was voted by his legal peers as outstanding lawyer in Toledo for labor and employment law; Best Lawyers in America; and voted to Ohio Super Lawyers. He is a past president of the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association and past treasurer of the Ohio Harness Horse Breeders Inc. He is married to Nancy Greenfield and has a stepson, Stephen MacMillan.

Mark Loewe
Mark Loewe was named Vice President of Racing for the Meadows Casino, Racetrack and Hotel in February. Loewe joined Penn National Gaming, Inc. in February 2008 as general manager of the Sanford Orlando Kennel Club in Longwood, Fla. and since then has assumed racing leadership roles at five other PNGI horse racing facilities (Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, Beulah Park, Raceway Park, Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway and Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course). Loewe was actively involved in the development of the overall racing facilities at Dayton Raceway and Mahoning Valley Race Course and since late 2014 has served as Vice President of Ohio Racing Operations for PNGI. Loewe will retain his oversight of the Mahoning Valley Race Course racing operations as part of his new assignment. Loewe grew up in New York City and frequented Yonkers and Roosevelt Raceways on a regular basis. Upon graduating from St. John’s University in 1978 with a degree in government and politics, he started his career in racing, working as a groom for Bill Popfinger. In his first year with the Popfinger Stable he was the groom for Little Brown Jug winner Happy Escort. Loewe trained for Popfinger and the Jerry Silverman Stable before opening his own public stable which he ran for 10 years. After leaving the backstretch, Loewe was employed by Pompano Park and was mentored by John Cash-man. He held various positions over the course of 13 years, including TV analyst, simulcast director, assistant race secretary, race secretary, director of racing and vice president of operations. Loewe currently is a Thoroughbred racing association director for Mahoning Valley Race Course. He is married to Janet Terhune and has a son and two step-children.

Steven J. McCoy
Steve McCoy is a former president of the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association and has served on the OHHA board of directors for more than 15 years. McCoy has been involved in the sport for more than 30 years as an owner. He was introduced to harness racing by his father, who was an owner, breeder and equine veterinarian. Among McCoy’s top horses were Power Score, Spider Woman, Chip And Run, Striking Mystery and Give ’Em The Ax. McCoy earned a B.A. degree (summa cum laude) from The Ohio State University in 1970 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California at Berkley in 1973. He currently serves as the General Counsel for The Showe Companies. McCoy is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Best Lawyers of America since 1987. He is married to Brenda McCoy and has a step-daughter, Cassandra Long, and two grandchildren.

John Mossbarger is a veterinarian and president of Midland Acres, Inc., a family-owned breeding farm in Bloomingburg, Ohio. Midland Acres has been home to many top stallions. In 2016, he was elected to the board of directors of the Hambletonian Society, Inc. Mossbarger graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. degree in 1972 and a D.V.M. degree in 1977. He is the past president of the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association and the Ohio Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association. He is a member of the Fayette County Harness Horsemen’s Association, and serves as a state trustee on the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. His wife, Kyle, is retired from the Madison County Schools. They have two daughters that are married, Jamie Lee (Kyle) Butts and Jill Ann (Chris) Cottrill. John and Kyle are blessed with six grandchildren.

Donald (Skip) W. Hoovler
Skip Hoovler is a former president and current board member of the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association. Director of PACER (Political Action Committee for Equine Racing). He became involved in harness racing in 1968, and races mostly homebreds in the Ohio Stakes program. Among his top horses were Medoland Sam, Medoland Big Sam, Medoland Miracle and Northmedo Tam. He graduated from Ohio University in 1965, where he was an All-American linebacker. Upon graduation, he played for the New York Jets and Houston Oilers. He is a financial advisor and owns Hoovler Financial and Insurance Services in Columbus, Ohio. “Skip” resides in Pataskala with his wife, Tammy, who is an avid horsewoman. They have three children and eight grandchildren.
