Residence: Cambridge, New York

Horse: Sundance Speed, a.k.a. "Sun," a 17-year-old bay pacing gelding. He raced once, in Saratoga, New York, in 1987.

Activities with your Standardbred: "Sun" is trained in western pleasure, occasional trail rides, but mostly they are the best of friends.

How did you come to meet/find/own your first Standardbred? "My dad was working on the house of an owner of many Standardbred racehorses. My horse was kept in his yard. (The owner) was looking for a home for him because the neighbors were complaining about smells and flies. When I met Sun, it was love at first sight!"

Fondest experience with Standardbreds: "Every day with him is the most enjoyable part of my day. When the vet or farrier comes, he is so well-trained and -mannered that these people find him a pleasure to work with. That's one of the pluses of having been raised at the racetrack."
