FLIRTIN MAN was patient off the slow early pace, flushed out live cover second over before the half, tipped three-wide into the lane, and sailed home easily. PLEASE POPPY skimmed the cones in the three-hole, angled out into the five path in the lane, and nailed the place late. STANDPOINT made a solid first-over try on turn two, and held well through a quick back half. LADDIE made the front easily, backed down the second quarter, and tired late. GREAT SUCCESS got away second, tracked the leader in the pocket, and got trapped inside when the leader faltered. UP FRONT LARRY was in the good outer flow third-over, and didn’t fire. OGHAM broke stride on turn two.

ALWAYS A VIRGIN made a quick brush to the front before 3/8ths, parked out mild pressure through an even third panel, and held sway under mild urging. SOUTHWIND LYNX pulled the three-hole late on turn two, ranging into contention first-over, took his best shot at the winner but could not get close. WON THE WEST was parked three-wide through turn one before finally reaching the front, yielded to the favorite on the backstretch, and was trapped in the pocket, raging with pace in the lane. GOLDEN SEVEN appeared to be buried on the rail entering the lane, slid out wide when clear, and closed with pace on the far outside. RUNNING BOOK followed good cover second over, tipped off his cover and was empty. CAPTAIN CAMBEST broke stride at the start. SUTTER HANOVER was a late scratch – lame.

ARCH MADNESS pulled the three-hole past the half, challenged the 1-5 favorite through a solid third panel, slugged it out through the lane, and got by late under solid urging. DONATO HANOVER took 3/8ths of a mile to finally reach the front, posted even fractions to three-quarters, gamely met the winner’s challenge in the lane, but could not hold him off under urging. PRAYER I AM parked the favorite a long way before yielding, tracked him in a loose pocket to three-quarters, and was clearly no match for the top two. PHOTO MAXX moved into the outer tier uncovered from well back, and passed the tired ones. BAYSIDE VOLO was last-over on turn two, and had only mild trot in the lane. MYTHICAL LINDY tried to move into a good second-over flow, could not keep up and stopped badly past the 5/8ths mark. UP FRONT BEN was gapping inside when he broke before the half.

3 YEAR OLD FILLY PACE – 2ND ELIMINATION          6 STARTERS


ARTCOTIC refused a tuck on turn one, driving on to the lead before the quarter, yielded to a backside brush when she tried to back down the second quarter, sat a two hole into the stretch, angled out and rolled by under confident handling. REAL VELOCITY made a quick backside move when she sensed the slow pace, rolled to three-quarters unchallenged, but could not hold off the favorite’s stretch drive. MIND BOGGLING trailed the field to three-quarters, found room along the cones midstretch, andc finished with a ton of pace from far back. ELUSIVE PREY skimmed the cones for three-quarters, and finished evenly. LADY MATTGALANE never challenged first-over, and backed up, finishing in a dead heat for fifth. CAPTIVA ISLAND followed weak cover second-over on turn two, tipped off that cover into the lane, had little pace in a dead heat for fifth.

SECOND RACE

SOUTHWIND TEMPO sat an anxious two-hole trip past three-quarters, ripped out of the pocket, and rolled home in 26-3/5 under wraps. HANA HANOVER cut decent fractions under no pressure, and was second-best behind a runaway winner. ME AND MY BABY was off the gate at the start, followed along in the five-hole on turn two, and showed solid pace out in the middle of the track. LITTLE MISS DRAGON refused to pull the four-hole on turn two, rallied out in the three-path into the lane, and did not gain ground on the winner. ART’S FANTASY sat a three-hole trip, and gave up some groung in the lane. CURRENT HANOVER was wrestled back to last early, trailed along as no second-tier ever formed, and had little. VAUDEVILLE MARGIE was in the four hole when she broke stride midway down the backstretch.

FALLS FOR YOU followed the favorite’s cover second-over on turn two, sprung off that perfect cover midway down the stretch, and surged by under mild urging. PAMPERED PRINCESS floated a four-hole tuck on turn one, was flushed out before the half and opted to make a grinding type of move through turn two, sailed by the early leader entering the stretch, but could not fend off the winner. SOUTHWIND SERENA was forced to drop into the pocket late on turn one, tracked the leader to the lane, and found room inside with solid pace to nail the show. DANAE improved position along the cones during the middle half, tipped out into the middle of the raceway, and closed very well from off the pace. LOCH KATRINE was away last, bided her time buried along the cones to three-quarters, worked her way out into the middle of the track and closed with a flourish to nab the last spot in the final. PIPPIWHITESTOCKINGS looked anxious to tip three-wide behind her cover on turn two, but failed to fire when they straightened out in the lane. GRANNY GUI sat a three-hole trip, got blocked early in the lane, and weaved her way through traffic too late. VANITY PLATES followed excess cover fourth-over and showed little. FLASH LIGHTNING left hard to assume command, cut her own fractions under only token pressure, and surrendered immediately when challenged entering the lane.

SIXTH RACE
THE BREEDERS’ CROWN     PURSE $25,000
2 YEAR OLD COLT & GELDING PACE – ELIMINATION                  10 STARTERS

SAND SHOOTER followed live cover down the backstretch, was last to reach the front on turn two, drew clear entering the lane and jogged home as the easiest kind of winner. ART OFFICIAL lost his cover and was left first-over on turn two, mounded a mild challenge near three-quarters, and was no threat to a convincing winner. DALEY DEPOSIT ONLY reached the lead just before the half, yielded readily to the favorite’s move, tracked that one to the lane and finished evenly. DONTLOSEYOURDAYJOB was parked a long way before reaching the lead, got shuffled a bit in an active middle half, and came again late with good pace off a rough trip. LEGACY N DIAMONDS left hard from the nine-hole, yielded to Dontloseyourdayjob immediately, got a bit of a shuffle and finished with solid pace to take the last check. DRAGOON K got away last, stayed inside, and closed relatively well from a tough spot. BROTHER RAY dropped in early, skimmed the cones and passed tiring foes late. DRAGON KING was off slowly from the inside, and offered little. UPFRONT HANNAHSBOY made two moves to the front early, yielded to a longshot before the half, and faded badly. IN ETHAN’S HONOR left alertly to get the four-hole, ended up with a golden second-over trip following the middle half action, gapped his cover and tired.

STYLISH ARTIST left the gate well to secure the two-hole, followed her cover to the stretch, angled out between rivals, and strode home confidently with a sharp close. READY TO WIN left well from the outside, cut solid fractions under minimal pressure, braced for a challenge entering the lane but could not fend off the eventual winner. DRAGONFEST pushed away from the rail to take the four-hole, opted to take the inside path through three-quarters, angled wide when they straightened out, and closed briskly when finally clear. UP FRONT BETHANN was unable to flush cover first-over past the half, picked up the pace through the third quarter, and was never a threat. SEE AND BE SEEN followed poor cover second-over, tipped three-wide into the lane, and spit the bit when shown clear raceway in front of her. DESIRABLE CINDY followed excess cover fourth-over, and passed tired foes late. KELLY’S KEEPSAKE was out third-over and came up empty. GO GET HER trailed to 3/4ths and backed up from there.

LEAR JETTA waited until past the half to launch his first-over bid, rolled up along side the leader at three-quarters, dispatched him at the top of the stretch and rolled home as much the best in here. YANKEE MATTHEW gapped the winner’s cover on turn two, found his best stride late, and closed with a flourish to just nail the place. INTIMIDATOR inherited the two-hole from a backside breaker, tracked the leader to the lane, angled off the cones, was clear early but didn’t have enough to threaten the winner. DI MANGGIO was unhurried on the lead past the half, tried to rebuff the eventual winner’s grinding third-quarter move, but could not stall him in the lane. LITTLE MOON LAKE sat a three-hole trip through turn two, and was clear with only even pace through the lane. MAKE IT HAPPEN tried to enter the flow third-over, couldn’t keep up and ducked back in along the cones, and showed little. CLOSER HANOVER broke stride while sitting a pocket trip at three-eighths.

DEWEYCHEATUMNHOWE made the front easily, cut pedestrian fractions, and drew off completely unchallenged in here. CELEBRITY SECRET tracked the winner in the two-hole, and was no match. KEYSTONE BLITZ made a weak first-over bid midway on the final turn, and nailed the show as no threat. CRAZED dropped into the three-hole early, skimmed the cones, and could not hold the show. NAUTICAL NOTION was a gapping second-over very late on turn two, and gave ground in the stretch. LUCKY JIM pulled the four-hole into turn two, and broke stride. WATERSTONE broke before the start.

CHANCEY LADY made an easy move down the backstretch into a stiff headwind, parked token pressure through an even third quarter, and drew clear while drifting out a bit on the wire. A AND G’S CONFUSION lost the eventual winner’s cover just before the half, kept coming first over on the final turn, ducked in to the cones when the leader drifted, but could not gain any ground. GOOD NEWS LADY followed the live cover second-over, was clear in the lane, and finished evenly. WONDROUS GRACE left alertly for a two-hole tuck, found herself in the three-hole entering the stretch, and never threatened. DREAMLANDS LATTE dropped into the four-hole from the far outside, gapped a bit along the backstretch, got buried when the outer tier formed and had no shot. VOLEZ HANOVER left hard to assume command, yielded to the winner’s move before the half, tracked her to the lane and tired mid-stretch. KNOCK THREE TIMES moved out third-over on turn two, struggled to keep up with her cover, and faded. STAROFTHESEADAVE got away last, skimmed the cones, and made no moves. MCARTS N CRAFTS followed excess cover fourth-over, and failed to menace here.
