Biography
Kim Crawford grew up in a family rich in the tradition of harness racing and began driving Standardbreds when he was 14 years old. Over the course of six decades, Crawford racked up more than 4,600 wins and $15 million in earnings. Drove his first pari-mutuel race at Saratoga in 1971, a year before graduating from high school. He raced on the New England circuit before settling at Saratoga in 1976, receiving the Johnny Page Award for best young driver the very next year. Crawford was Saratoga’s Horseman of the Year five times (1982, 1985, 1989, 1990, and 1991). Retired from driving, Crawford now maintains and repairs race tracks. He has three children: sons Brett and Cole, and daughter Rachel.
