Sammy L (Nobleland Sam--Candy Canaday) took the first of two divisions of the 2-year-old filly pace, in 2:01. Roy Burns drove the filly for owner Melissa LeVan and trainer Herb LeVan. The same driver and trainer teamed to take the second split as well with Tuesday (Dawn Ofa New Day--Rainkissed), in 2:04.4. Tuesday is co-owned by Richard Bauder and Herb LeVan.
Trainer-driver John Konesky III and owners Mary Ann and Patrick Konesky found the winner's circle in two of the three divisions of the 2-year-old colt trot. JH Spur (Pegasus Spur--JH Sauterelle) took the first division, in 2:07.2, and Jesse Fect (Jailhouse Jesse--Perfect Comer) came home first in the second division, in 2:10.2. The Barb Lewis-trained Jailhouse Dale (Jailhouse Jesse--Chipper Dale) captured the third division, in 2:05.3. Lewis co-owns the colt with Michael Pozefsky, with Greg Bateson handling the driving chores.
Stablecreekcruiser (Yankee Cruiser--Hey Girlfriend) and Yankeelicious (Yankee Cruiser--Silver Romance) took the two divisions of the 3-year-old filly pace, just as they did last week at Paulding, Ohio. Barb Lewis trains and co-owns Stablecreekcruiser with Jeanine Dunn. Chris Page brought the filly home in 2:00.3. The Custer Stables pays the bills on Yankeelicious, with John Schuberg doing the training and Greg Bateson holding the lines. Yankeelicious toured the Ottawa oval in 2:00.2.
Master Buckin Uhl (Master Lavec--Class Of Victory) captured the first of two splits of the 3-year-old colt trot, in 2:11.3. Mark Winters and William Bean share the expenses on the colt, with Winters doing the training and driving. Trainer-driver Harold Dick guided Hi-Tech Lavec (Master Lavec--T Tar's Yakity Yak) across the finish line first in the second division, in 2:08.2. The gelding's owner is George Ervin.
